Top 10 Bedtime Books for Toddlers
#1 Thank You and Good Night
This is the sweetest little story that takes you through all the little things your kiddo can be grateful for every day... there’s lot of pages, but not many words on each & I really love that the whole book is designed as a prayer to God. It was the first “real bedtime book” we started reading to Duke & it was a gift from my big bro, so it definitely has an extra special place in my heart!
#2 Biscuit’s Pet & Play Bedtime
We just love Biscuit board books at our house! The stories are all so sweet & kind and it’s an easy read for a quick naptime or bedtime story! Not too many pages, not too many words... and Duke really loves to give the puppy kisses on his fav pages!
#3 I Love You to the Moon and Back
I got this book as baby shower gift & it took me a while to break it out for bedtime reading. But I’m so glad I finally did! It’s so sweet & so beautifully illustrated. The story takes you through a day spent together as mama & son (or any parent & child) and always makes me slow down & remember the sweet moments from the day, like splashing at bathtime or tear up a little inside that my baby is growing up so fast! But seriously, where does the time go?
#4 Night-Night North Dakota
Duke got this book out & about exploring with his grandma & grandpa. If you’re from North Dakota, you’ll love all the local references - like the Dakota Zoo, the dinosaur bones at the Heritage Center, and even the Bison football fans! It’s a sweet little rhyming story that’s takes just the right amount of time to read before your toddler starts to get squirmy!
#5 Biscuit Visits the Pumpkin Patch
We love to read a seasonal-themed Biscuit board book before naptime everyday. It’s become one of my newest fav family traditions! We stared this past fall with Biscuit Visits the Pumpkin Patch, and it made it all that much more fun when we actually took Duke to visit our local pumpkin patch this year!
#6 Biscuit Is Thankful
Of course, this seasonal-themed Biscuit book was perfect for November and celebrating all the things were thankful for! But it’s also my all-time fav Biscuit book! Biscuit is an adorable little puppy that goes on so many fun outdoor adventures, and we love to tag along for them all!
#7 Biscuit’s Pet & Play Christmas
Perfect for Christmas time, Duke learned who Santa was before we took him to see Santa at the mall — we didn’t get a picture, but he did give Santa a high-five! So we’re calling it a win! From feeling Santa’s beard to touching the horse’s furry mane of the one-horse open sleigh, the interactive touch & feel component was a fun addition to our usual bedtime stories.
#8 Biscuit’s Snowy Day
Adorable puppies galavanting in the snow, building snowmen, and going sledding... need I say more? It’s another adorable Bisuit tale & one that’ll encourage you to get outside and play in the snow!
#9 What is Love, Biscuit?
We’re currently reading this cute little story about all the different kinds of kindness & love in your kiddo’s life. From helping a little ducking cross the road to spending time with grandma and grandpa, this story is sure to warm your heart just in time for Valentine’s Day - or any day of the year!
#10 Biscuit’s Pet & Play Easter
Another fun interactive touch & feel story, we can’t wait to break this one this coming Spring as we prepare for all things Easter!
Storytime is such a special time to be together as a family, and end the day with feelings of joy and love no matter what the day entailed! It’s so fun to have new stories to dive into & I’m always on the lookout for new bedtime books... What are some of your family’s fav bedtime books?
